Transcript
In front of you is a velvet-covered seat, part of every audience member’s memory.
Velvet was chosen because it absorbs sound well, helping instruments and voices carry evenly through the hall.
The museum has digitised the seat as a 3D model, so the restoration team can keep its exact dimensions each time it is reupholstered.
On your phone you can open the model and turn it through three hundred and sixty degrees.
